Apple just announced a new TV app for Apple TV, and it’s basically going to be useless. The TV app is supposed to keep track of all the shows you watch across apps available on Apple TV, but Netflix is available in Ultra HD on select Apple TV streaming media players. To stream in Ultra HD, you will need: A TV compatible with Ultra HD streaming from Netflix, connected to your Apple TV via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port). I would like to see the app updated for both the third and fourth generation Apple TV's (as both of these devices are currently sold by Apple). I own own both devices and I would note the frame rate issues are less apparent on the 3rd generation but both Apps are frustratingly in need of an update.
